MONOTYPE 1
Join me for a 5 session workshop on Monotype Printmaking.
This class is offered for adults (18 years and older) and will meet on the following dates:
Five Tuesdays in July: July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
Monotype is a great introduction to Fine Art Printmaking. An image is created on a flat piece of plexiglas and then printed onto a sheet of paper by running the "plate" and paper through the hand cranked printing press. Multiples, variations, ghosts, off-sets, stencils, transfers...all are terms used in the world of Monotype. With brushes and rags and many other tools you can create an image that is uniquely your own. Think of improvisational jazz with classical instruments.
Instruction includes detailed demonstrations of step-by-step processes, safety tips using the printing press, on the spot problem solving each step of the way and general information about Fine Art Printmaking techniques, framing suggestions and vendors for materials. You also get one-on-one consultation with me throughout the making of your project and group discussions and constructive critiques about each other's art.
